After a seven-year break since the last edition in 2019, the National Ventureathlon returned for its second edition on 19 and 20 September 2026. Held under the theme “Beyond Horizons”, the event brought together nearly 200 participants, including Ventures, leaders, helpers and members of the planning team. Representing 18 Scout Groups across 26 competing teams, Ventures came together for a weekend centred around challenge, teamwork, friendship and scouting skills.
The Ventureathlon began with the Unit competition, which included a 17 km hike. Along the route, teams completed a series of activities that put their scouting knowledge and practical skills to the test, including first aid, orienteering, pioneering and scouting history.
Partway through the hike, a sudden thunderstorm meant that the activity had to be temporarily paused. Despite the unexpected change in conditions, the Ventures kept their spirits high, spending the time together singing songs and sharing a few laughs while waiting for the weather to improve. The Ventures later made it safely to the campsite, where another challenge awaited them, this time putting their cooking skills to the test.
Sunday brought a different element to the Ventureathlon through a Cluedo-style mystery challenge. Reflecting the scout principle that a Scout is a friend to all, Ventures were placed into new teams and encouraged to work alongside participants from other Scout Groups, giving them the opportunity to meet new people and build friendships beyond their own Units. Together, the teams completed a series of tasks to earn points, which could then be exchanged for clues needed to solve the mystery, putting teamwork, communication and problem-solving at the heart of the activity
Following a weekend of competition, teamwork and determination, the Ventureathlon 2026 Unit Competition results were:
1st Place – Mosta Ventures
2nd Place – Attard Ventures
3rd Place – St Aloysius College Ventures
Congratulations to the winning Units and to every Venture who took part in Ventureathlon 2026. Throughout the weekend, participants demonstrated determination, teamwork and a positive scouting spirit as they faced each challenge together.

Our thanks also go to the Venture Leaders, helpers and volunteers who gave their time and supported the Ventures throughout the weekend. Their contribution, both in the preparation for the event and throughout the Ventureathlon itself, played an important part in making the weekend possible.
Ventureathlon 2026 was a memorable return, bringing Ventures together for a weekend of challenge, friendship and scouting adventure.
