Backpacks loaded. Scarves neatly folded. Badges sewn. Spirits through the roof. Malta is now officially ready to represent itself at the 16th World Scout Moot in Portugal, and in style!

Our group is comprised of eager Rovers from 9 different Scout Groups in Malta, all set to spend two weeks of fun, friendship, and lifelong memories among other scouts from across the world.
But first, what exactly is the World Scout Moot?
World Scout Moot is a global event of Rover Scouts aged 18 to 26 years that occurs every four years in a host nation. It brings together thousands of young people from all over the world for an incredible blend of adventure, cultural exchange, community service, and international friendship, all on the values of scouting.
This isn’t just a trip. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we’re bringing a piece of Malta with us to every path.

Designed by Rovers, for Rovers
Everything in our look, from badge to scarf to merch, was designed by the participants themselves. It’s a true team effort, and a creative expression of who we are as young Maltese Scouts heading out onto the world stage.
Our Badge: A Loggerhead Turtle With A Maltese Twist
Emblazoning the Maltese Contingent is none other than the Loggerhead Turtle, a protected species that comes ashore to nest. Look closely, though, and you’ll spot something special: the shell is decorated with the traditional Maltese tile motif (maduma), uniting nature and heritage in an iconic symbol. It’s a celebration of conservation, heritage, and the rich heritage we share.

Our Scarf: A Fossil-Rich, Sea-Inspired Statement
Our official contingent scarf has its own story to tell too. Shells and fossils unearthed throughout Malta’s rocky terrain feature in the fabric, a reminder of our island’s long past and its links to the sea. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a hint of tradition added with a small maduma feature along the piping, discreet but proudly home-inspired.

Now off to Portugal!
With product complete and batteries charged, we’re ready to represent Malta with pride. From Lisbon to the green interior tracks, from workshops to late-night bonding, our crew is ready for the Moot adventure of a lifetime.
To all of you whom we will encounter in Portugal, we look forward to sharing experiences, learning one another’s ideas, and living out the scouting spirit together.
See you at the Moot!
