The Beaver Scout Section is the youngest Section of the Scouting family – the age range is from 5 to 7 years. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, outdoor visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.

The adventure starts here, and the emphasis is on maximum fun! Don’t let our “cute” factor fool you as we can be as adventurous and daring as any other Section in Scouting. There are many reasons for joining a Beaver Scout Colony. While having fun, we get to play and learn how to get along with other children. We take on tasks and learn about responsibility, we learn new skills by “doing” them and most important of all we do all this with friends.

Beaver Scouts have a say in what is happening in the programme of activities – this is done through review games and at gatherings called Log Chews.

Beaver Scouts have a Promise that they renew at each meeting and their motto is “Make Friends”.

“The best thing we did was dance and run in the rain. I wasn’t even sure we were allowed to, but it was a fun thing to do and it was brilliant! I mean, we were out anyway so I guess it didn’t matter too much after all.”
